Hisbah trains members on GBV and child protection law in Jigawa

The Jigawa state Hibah command in collaboration with development research and project center (drpc) and federation of muslim women's association of Nigeria (FOMWAN) have trained hisbah local government commanders on gender base violence and child protection law.
The training took place at Hisbah headquarters in Dutse, the Jigawa state capital on Thursday.
Objectives of the training is to educate hisbah members on the VAP law and child protection law. Also to no more about child right, child abuse, and child labour with a view to reduce violence and crime in the communities.
Lawan Ahmad who facilitated the training said the training is to ensure that all Hisbah members are aware and have knowledge on the laws that guide women and children in the state.
He said child protection law has provided protections of women and children after domestication.
The Hisbah state commandant sheik Ibrahim Dahiru Garki charges the his members to implement what they have learnt in their duties.
He also thanks drpc-fomwan for their support and collaboration towards attaining making the training possible in the state.
Garki said the command will not relent on its efforts toward curtailing violence and crime in the 27 local government of the state.
Malama Maimuna Ahman chairperson (AMIRA) of FOMWAN called on women to always be conscious and always be watching their children.
She said most of the violence and abuse against children is the negligence of women 90 percent because they are always at Home.
