Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the elder brother of the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Engineer Umar Sa’id.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor Mustapha Muhammad on Friday.
Engineer Umar Sa’id, a former Director of Works at Kaduna Polytechnic and Federal Polytechnic Kauran Namoda respectively, died in the early hours of Friday.
He died after protracted illiness of kidney desease at 44 Armed Forces Reference Hospital, Kaduna at the age of 69.
Governor Yusuf described the death as a great loss, not only to the immediate family but also to the Civil engineering profession, Kaduna Polytechnic, wider community in Kaduna and Kano states at large.
He noted that the deceased lived a life of service, dedication, and professionalism, particularly in his contributions to infrastructural development during his time at Kaduna Polytechnic.
The Governor prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late Engineer Umar Sa’id and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed for strength and comfort for Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa and the entire family to bear the irreparable loss.
Governor Yusuf urged the bereaved family to take solace in the fact that the deceased lived a fulfilled and impactful life.
