Gov. Idris mourns the passing away of Emir of Zuru.
The Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has expressed deep sorrow on the passing away of the Emir of Zuru, His Royal Highness, retired Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Sani Sami, who died on Saturday night in London after an illness. He was 81 years old.
Governor Idris, on behalf of the Government and people of Kebbi State, extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the late Emir, the Zuru Emirate Council, and the entire people of Zuru Emirate over the irreparable loss.
He described the late Emir as a highly respected traditional ruler, patriot, and statesman who dedicated his life to the service of his people, the state, and Nigeria. The Governor further remarked that his wisdom, leadership, and fatherly guidance would be surely missed.
“The passing away of His Royal Highness, Muhammadu Sani Sami, is not only a great loss to the Zuru Emirate but also to Kebbi State and the entire nation. He was a bridge builder, a man of peace, and an embodiment of humility and integrity. His legacies will continue to live on,” Governor Idris said.
The Governor prayed The Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late Emir, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his family, the Zuru Emirate Council, and the people of Kebbi State the fortitude to bear the loss.
Burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
