Gov Buni Revives Yobe Industry After a Decade of Dormancy
The Executive Governor of Yobe State, His Excellency (Dr.) Mai Mala Buni, CON, has successfully resuscitated the Yobe Polythene and Woven Sacks Industry in Damaturu, bringing it back to life after nearly ten years of inactivity.
Located within the industrial layout in the Dikumari area, the facility had been dormant since the early years of the insurgency, a period that crippled numerous socioeconomic activities across Yobe State and much of Northern Nigeria.
The revival of this industry is a remarkable milestone. The factory plays a vital role in producing polythene materials and woven sacks, which significantly support commercial activities and strengthen the state’s economy.
Its reopening will create employment opportunities for many young people, enhance internally generated revenue, and contribute to the broader economic recovery and industrial growth of Yobe State.
