The Management of Da'awah Orphanage, Tumfure in Gombe State has called on government at all levels and wealthy individuals to come to the aid of its Orphanages in the interest of the wellbeing and welfare of the children.

The Committee Chairman of the Orphanage Dr Babayo Kolo, made this call while briefing newsmen on the update on their monthly and annual spending in Gombe.

Kolo said the analysis of their spending was done to give the government and well-meaning Nigerians a glipse of what was being spent so as to guide them on how to assist the orphanage.

Dr Kolo, said on montlhy basis they spend one million fifteen thousand on salary while they spend over twelve million naira yearly and "so far we have not received any assistance from the government."

He said they need more facilities like Islamiyya classes and additional fund in running the affairs of the orphanage.

Chairman also called on wealthy individuals and philanthropists to come to their aid because what "we spend we would not get it in time, and those who assist us most time the assistance would not come in time when we may need it."

He commended Dr Bala Bello Tinka, for shouldering the responsibility of paying the whole salary of staff, which is one million six hundred and forty four naira annually.

He equally appreciated all those who have rendered help in one way or the other, "May Allah reward you all."

According to him, the orphanage was established on the 6th February 2011 with eight orphans and now they have 63 both Boys and Girls.

In her response one of the female officials in the Orphanage Mrs  Zainab Adamu Abubakar, said if government would come in and provide health care facility for the health of the orphans that would 'greatly' be appreciated.

She added that most of the time non governmental organization and Individuals would assist, and that would help immensely for the running of the Orphanage.

Some orphans interviewed appreciated the way they found themselves in the Orphanage, said they were taught Islamic religious knowledge and Western education.
