The Zamfara State Chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has said all marchineries have been put in place to mobilize it's members across the state, for the upcoming nation wide strike action over fuel subsidy removal by the Federal Government.

Chairperson of the Zamfara NLC, comrade Sani Haliru, disclosed this to newsmen today, shortly after holding a meeting with all relevant stakeholders at NLC secretariat Gusau.

He said, " I attended a crucial meeting with our mother union in Abuja and many things have been discussed with regards to this fuel subsidy removal.

"We want them to review the pump price and to allow the subsidy as it is, among other issues, and  all states of the federation have attended the Abuja meeting and we must come back and feed back our members."

"So as you can see, we held a meeting with them and have so far extended the messages, and we are hoping that the leaders will also inform their members at the grassroot level."

According to Comrade Haliru, all unions of both the state and local governments of Zamfara state are expected to comply with the directives given by the mother union.

He also urged all Trade Unions in the state to comply and come out en masse at Wednesday's strike action, if the government refuses to do  welcome back on the initial pump price and removal of fuel subsidy.
