The Emirs of Gwandu Alhaji Muhammadu Ilyasu Bashar and that of Argungu, Alhaji Sama'ila Muhammadu Mera, all in Kebbi State, Nigeria on Sunday paid Sallah homage on APC leader in Sokoto state, Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Sarkin Yamman Sokoto, at his Gawon Nama residence in Sokoto on a sallah homage.
The duo said that the visit was to congratulate him over the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, 1444/2023, as well as to congratulate the Governor-elect, Hon. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto on his election victory.
Although was absent for obvious reasons during the visit, the Emir of Gwandu was adequately represented by the Emir of Argungu.
Mera was accompanied by all the Council's Chiefs from both Emirates.
Speaking, Emir of Argungu informed the Senator that they came to Sokoto state to rejoice with him over the completion of the Ramadan fast and at the same time to felicitate with him and the Governor-elect, H.E. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto in the recent victory during the last Presidential, National Assembly and Governorship elections.
He informed Sen. Wamakko that the people of Sokoto and Kebbi States have been together as brothers for ages.
The Emir prayed Allah, the Almighty to continue to grant more prosperity to both states, as well as divine protection.
Responding, Sen. Wamakko, while welcoming the guests expressed delight with the visit of the powerful delegation.
He said that the visit was an indication of the long standing mutual and cordial relationship between the two states.
Sen. Wamakko, on behalf of the Governor-elect appreciated the gesture of the two traditional rulers and prayed Allah to continue to assist them in the discharge of their duties.
The delegation was led to Wamakko's residence by the Galadiman Garin Sokoto, Alhaji Aliyu Attahiru Galadanci Sokoto.
