Emir of Banyam crowned Hajiya Rukayya Abubakar Mahmud as "Sarauniyar Banyam" in Taraba

The Emir of Banyam in Darofai district of Karim Lamido local government of Taraba state Alhaji garba Ibrahim, has crowned Hajiya Rukayya Abubakar Mahmud as "Sarauniyar Banyam".
The turbaning ceremony took place on Sunday 20 November 2022 in Jalingo Taraba State capital.
Hajiya Ruqayya Abubakar Mahmud was born in kwalli quarters of Kano municipal local government area Kano State in 1982, to the family of Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim and Hajiya Safiyya Yusuf Ado, who is a biological daughter of Chief Emir of Okene in kogi State.
She started her early primary education at kwalli special primary school in 1982, on completion she proceeded to Fatima Muhammad Girls Secondary School Gyadi-gyadi in Tarauni local govt Area where she graduated in 2000.
Hajiya Ruqayya later secured admission into federal college of education (FCE Kano) where she obtained her NCE in English/Hausa in the year 2008.
She obtained her Bsc in Business administration and masters degree all in Bayero University Kano.
Rukayya was a teacher at Sheka primary School and Naibawa primary school and later resigned her appointment and became a full time Business Woman.
Her interest in business started at her early stage of life, when she was in primary school she used to go to school along with "Kafi tsire" to sell to her school mate, and when she was in higher institution she sold clothing materials, costumes, cosmetics among others.
So when she resigned her appointment Hajiya Rukayya joined her Husband in partnership by establishing a travelling agency known as "AL MUZDALIFA TRAVEL AND TOWERS" in 2014.
She also engaged herself in voluntary/charity and empowerment schemes in which she rendered assistance to orphans, widows and the less privileged in the society.
The foundation also offers free feeding in favour of the poor and needy during the month of Ramadan.
Rukayya then received meritorious awards within and outside the country which includes; 2 from Saudi Arabia, emir of Kano, Kasupda, Musab firm etc.
Her hobby is traveling, as a result of that she travelled to so many countries, e.g. Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Turkey, India, Egypt, Lebanon, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, etc. and her best food is Rice and Beans with stew.
Hajiya Rukayyat was married to Alhaji Mahmud Yusuf, she is blessed with 3 Children.
