DEFECTION HITS PDP AGAIN AS FORMER LAWMAKER, LG CHAIR, AND OTHERS JOIN APC

As the Ahmad Aliyu-led administration continued to initiate and provide more tangible developmental projects in Sokoto State, many PDP bigwigs across various strata succumbed to the progressive path by dumping their former party, also opposition in the state, the People's Democratic Party, PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The recent development is coming from the Gwadabawa local government area as many PDP members have decided to join the All Progressives Congress APC, being led by the state leader of the party, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko (Sarkin Yamman Sokoto).
Notably amongst the decampees are the former member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Hon. Habibu Mu'azu Gidan Kaya, Hon. Ibrahim Mammande, who was the former Gwadabawa local government chairman; Hon. Bello Dan Asali Mammande, a former Councillor; and Alh. Mustapha Hussaini, the former Deputy Director of Finance.
Others who defected alongside the above-mentioned Personalities are Alh. Ahmed Altine Gwadabawa, a former Director of Finance and Supply and the PDP Women leader in the area Hajiya Fadimatu Gwadabawa.
All of them have defected alongside hundreds of their followers in the Gwadabawa local government area of the state.
Similarly, the former Chairman of the Gudu local government, Hon. Bello Wakili Bachaka,, has also joined the movement by abandoning his former party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Earlier in his comment during the visit to the APC leader in his Gawon Nama residence, Sokoto, the majority leader in the Sokoto State House of Assembly who is also the party stalwart in Gwadabawa local government, Hon. Bello Idris Chimmola, told the Senator that, the recent defection by the members of the PDP in the area was as a result of the mutual understanding and the respect between them even before now.
He further added that Ahmed Aliyu's administration is transforming the state by executing numerous developmental projects across the nooks and corners of the state, as a result, all well-meaning individuals have to switch to the ruling party to move the state forward.
In his remarks, the APC leader in the State, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda, expressed happiness for seeing the United Gwadabawa in the field of politics.
He said no community can progress if its people are not united hence the need for more unity, understanding, and harmonious working relationships among them to move the Gwadabawa and the state forward.
While welcoming them into the APC, he also assured them that they would be carried along like any other member of the party for the progress of all.
He also mentioned some projects executed by the state government under Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, such as roads, Electrification, distribution of fertilizer free to farmers, and the sales of subsidized Rice across the state among many more of such developmental projects.
It could be recalled that last month, many PDP bigwigs defected to APC in the same Gwadabawa local government area.
