Crudan Sensitize CSOs On Gender Based Violence

 

The Christian Rural and Urban Development Association of Nigeria lamented the increasing violence against women and children in Nigeria.

The North West Zonal coordinator Dr. James Obadia made the statement during the 3-day workshop on Gender Based Violence GBV held in Dutse, the Jigawa state capital.
He said violence against the vulnerable class is the major problem the country is facing apart from insecurity.
Dr. Obadia then called on the relevant stakeholders to put their hands on deck in order to fight against gender based violence.
He then appreciated the Jigawa state government in implementing child right law in the state, according to him the law will help in reducing violence against vulnerable children in the state.
The Vision of the workshop is to have a society free from all forms of gender based Violence, whether at work place, in the home or anywhere within the societal interactions. Seeing women having their fundamental human rights at whatever level.
The mission, Is to sensitize the participants on gender based violence in the society.
The participants include members of Hisbah Board Jigawa state, Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, Jamaatu Nasril Islam JNI, Muslim women, civil society organizations and the Media.
