The court issued the order upon an ex-parte application by counsel to Nasir Zango, Barrister Abba Hikima, In the motion ex-parte together with 15 Pharagraphs affidavit in support and duly sworn to by one Applicant himself, dated 10th November, 2021 the court issued an interim injunction restraining the Commissioner of Police Kano State Command and Inspector Friday as 1st and Respondents in the case2nd respectively.

Court Restrains Police from Arresting Journalist Nasiru Salisu Zango

The Kano State High Court Presided over by Justice Abdu Maiwada Abubakar has restrained Shuaibu Abdullahi Dikko, Commissioner of Police Kano State Command from threatening to arrest Nasiru Salisu Zango Manager, News and Current Affairs of Freedom Radio, Kano.

In the motion ex-parte together with 15 Pharagraphs affidavit in support and duly sworn to by one Applicant himself, dated 10th November, 2021 the court issued an interim injunction restraining the Commissioner of Police Kano State Command and Inspector Friday as 1st and Respondents in the case2nd respectively.

” An order of interim injunction is hereby granted restraining the 1st and 2nd Respondents in person or through their offices, agents or privies from threatening to arrest, arresting, detaining or however interfering with the Applicant’s right of expression and press freedom in connection with the subject matter of this suit, pending the hearing and determination of the substantive application.”

Justice Maiwada adjourned the case to 19th November 2021 for hearing of motion on notice.
