Bodinga Inspects NIN Registration: Enhancements for Digital Inclusion

Sokoto Intensifies NIN Enrolment Drive: MIDE Commissioner Inspects Registration Centre in Bodinga

The Sokoto State Government has intensified statewide National Identification Number (NIN) enrolment and data update exercise, which is aimed at ensuring compliance across the State.

The Commissioner for Innovation and Digital Economy, Honourable Bashar Umar Kwabo, led a monitoring and inspection visit to the NIN registration centres in Bodinga Local Government.

During the inspection, the Commissioner reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to expanding NIN registration coverage and improving data accuracy across Sokoto State. He described the exercise as a crucial step toward enhancing digital inclusion and ensuring that every resident benefits from various government programs, banking services, and digital platforms.

While inspecting the registration process, the Mr Kwabo received complaints from enrolment officers about delays caused by technical issues and slow network speed. In response, he issued directives for the immediate redeployment of high-speed systems, improved internet connectivity, and the deployment of additional enrolment officers to accommodate the growing number of applicants in the area.

Hon. Bashar commended the enrolment officers for their dedication and urged them to maintain efficiency, transparency, and professionalism in service delivery.

In his remarks, Mr. Galadima, the Coordinator of the NIN Enrolment and Data Update Exercise in Bodinga, appreciated the Honourable Commissioner and his team for the rigorous interactions and immediate interventions. He asserts that the inspection would help address existing challenges and further motivate field officers to intensify efforts toward achieving wider coverage and more accurate data collection across Bodinga and neighbouring communities.

He also assured that the team will intensify multilingual strategies to encourage more residents to register for their NIN.

The inspection marks another phase in the Ministry’s continuous drive to ensure effective NIN enrolment throughout the state, in line with directives of Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto for a statewide mobilization to accelerate NIN enrolment and ensure data accuracy across Sokoto State.

The exercise was attended by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Nasir Daniya, mni, Directors, Heads of Units from both the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Economy and the Sokoto Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (SICTDA).
