Student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, (SSCOE) Sokoto accused of obscenity, has been killed in a rabble action on the school premises.
The deceased, whose details were still sketchy as of the time of filing this report, was seen in a video that has gone viral on social media being violently attacked until she collapsed and was set ablaze.
She was said to have made derogatory comments against the prophet(S.A.W) on a group WhatsApp platform.
According to sources, a student of primary education studies, said the incident started from posting of unnecessary post inside school (group) which resulted in the argument, she added that her colleagues ask her not to post that, but unfortunately after sending, she deleted it, but due to what they called GB Whatsapp that whenever something was deleted it doesn't delete permanently.
The now deceased has an examination to write by 12 pm when the incident happens as sources said.
Managarciya Newspaper learnt that Deborah was reportedly learnt that she posted an audio accusing of what has been post inside their group, yesterday, which resulted to the argument in the early hours of today a group beheaded to their hostel shouting and asking of Deborah.
HOW IT HAPPENED
A student of the college identified only by her first name, Jamila, narrated to MANAGARCIYA how the incident started on Wednesday.
She said it all started when someone sent a broadcast message to a WhatsApp group of the students, to which Deborah, the murdered student, belonged.
It was that kind of message that will ask you to share with other groups if you don't want evil to befall you, said Jamila.
But the now deceased Deborah complained that such messages should not be sent to a WhatsApp group created for the sharing of important information about tests and assignments.
Also narrating about the incident, Sumayya a student of integrated science, said Deborah, 20 was killed at about 10 am, accusing her of making obscenity to the prophet (SAW).
The Sokoto State Government has ordered the immediate closure of the college.
The Hon. commissioner for information Alhaji Isah Bajini Galadanci said to the press men in the state, already the State governor Aminu Tambuwal has directed ministry of higher education and security agencies to commence investigations in to the remote and causes of the incident and report back to the government.
