APC North East  Organizing Secretary -----Tabitha Sallah Indicate Her  Interest

Ahead of All Progressives Congress (APC) convention convener of Gombe women ambassadors, Tabitha I Sallah, have  indicated interest to serve as Organising Secretary North East zone, adding that more women were needed in politics.

The aspirant revealed that meaningful participation of women in national, local, and community leadership roles has become an important focus on global development policy.

Sallah made this disclosure in an interview with journalists noting that she has garnered experience for the position as a convener of Buhari/ Osibanjo/Inuwa women ambassadors.

According to her, as a philanthropist she had provided loans to over 2,000 women to improve their businesses, revealing that such explains her impact as an organiser and mobiliser.

She said, "I'm from Bangu Balanga local government area of Gombe state, a devoted community worker, civil society person, humanitarian, a philanthropist entrepreneur, women empowerment and mobilisation advocate.

"I have been using my personal resources to cater for Orphans and vulnerable Children (OVC), as well as women in northeastern Nigeria. Member grassroot mobilisers for Buhari (GMB), Northeast women Ambassadors.

"I was a strategic organiser of the Nigeria at 60, Made in Nigeria Goods and Services Expo inaugurated by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

Sallah continued saying, "I wish to call on leaders to carefully look into the matter of ratio of women holding government positions because over the last two decades, the rate of women’s representation in National parliaments globally has incrementally increased from 11.8 percent in 1998 to 17.8 percent in 2008 to 23.5 percent in 2018.

"Some regions have seen tremendous increase, such as Sub-Saharan Africa, where in the last 20 years the number of women in parliament has risen from 11 to 23.6 percent, and the Arab States region, which has seen an increase from 3.1 to 17.5 percent."

While commending her party leaders, Sallah expressed the impact of her aspiration to APC North East as organising secretary, stressing that it would yield the much required development to the zone.

"I wish to commend the party leaders of All progressive congress APC for the landmark achievement and development in the party and  Nigeria as a Nation at large in line with the cardinal objectives of the party.  

“ My decade of leadership experience in development, business, governance and community mobilisation at different levels will give me a major edge in my role as the North East Zonal Organising Secretary, if given the mandate

"Our great party at the North East level needs a credible person with potential to harness our existing opportunities and engender massive organisation and mobilisation for massive democratic dividends.

I am therefore presenting myself as the most suitable and the best for the position of the North East Zonal Organising Secretary.

"My participation will result in significant and tangible gains for our party and democracy, including greater and prompt responsiveness to citizen needs, increased cooperation across our party, religion and ethnic lines and a more sustainable future. 

"My aspiration will advance women issues and I will aggressively work across our party lines; I will be highly responsive to constituent concerns and help secure lasting peace within the party," Sallah said.
