The African Democratic Congress (ADC), has strongly condernmed the abduction of 177 Christian worshipers in Kurmin Wali, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Sunday, while calling for the quick rescue of the victims.

The party described the unfortunate incident as another painful reminder of Kaduna state worsening insecurity, saying that the primary responsibility of a responsible government is to secure the lives and properties of the citizens.

Kaduna ADC said that situation which is not only unfortunate, but it has again exposed the inability of the incumbent governor, Dr. Uba Uba to steer the affairs of the state effectively. ” Report has shown that the Insecurity has been allowed to grow, unchecked and unchallenged, leaving the people of the state to their faith without any hope of help from the government of the day in the state.

The party in statement signed and issued by it state Publicity Secretary, Hon Alex Tagwai on Wednesday stated that the denial of the government and the Kaduna state police commissioner has sent wrong signal not only to the people of Kaduna, Nigeria, but also the international community.

The party asked: ” Can we keep waking up to news of mass abductions, disputed figures, and official denials while citizens live in fear?”

According to reports, the armed bandits who invaded the community were said to have arrived at the community while church services were being conducted, reportedly carrying out coordinated attacks on several churches.

Kaduna ADC, while frowning at the mass abduction, explained that before the coming of APC in 2015, the state was peaceful, but today it seems as if Kaduna is at war, as no day passed without report abduction.

The party accused the Uba Sani led-government of misplaced priorities, saying that the current administration in the state is only known mobilizing resources for propaganda, but paid little or no attention to the lingering insecurity in the state that has eaten so deep and affecting the economy of the state.

Expressing solidarity with victims and the entire people of Kajuru, ADC said: ” to the people of Kurmin Wali, Kajuru and the entire Kaduna state, you are not alone, we stand with you in this trying time.

The party prayed: “those abducted will be found and returned safely, and that those injured in the course of this attack receive swift and full medical care.”
