Adamawa Police arrest 75-year-old man for attempted Rape

The Adamawa State Police Command have revealed that one 75-year-old man, Daniel Jaja, have been arrested for attempting to sexually assault a 25-year-old woman in Mukuvinyi village, within the Hong Local Government Area of the state.
Sharing a statement on its X handle on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, disclosed that the accused invited the woman to his residence on October 18, where he forcefully attempted to rape her which led to the woman using a razor blade to fend off the suspect.
He said: “Adamawa State Police Command on 30/10/2023 apprehended a 75years old Man for attempting to rape a 25yrs old who visited him in Mukuvinyi Village, Hong local government Area.
“The suspect, one Daniel Jaja, 75 years old on 18/10/2023 in Mukuvinyi village, Hong local government area was said to have invited his victim to his house and Suddenly advanced forcefully to have unlawful carnal knowledge of her until she resisted.
“Investigation, so far reveals that Victim while trying to prevent the act used a Razor blade and cut the Erected Penis from penetrating her leaving him with a serious injury. He is now on Admission in a hospital receiving treatment.”
The state's Commisioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, have directed the Family support unir to take over teh investigation while urging members of the public to swiftly report cases like this.
"The Commissioner of police CP Afolabi Babatola who frowns at the ugly incident have directed the officer in charge of Family support unit of the command to take over investigation and ensures deligent prosecution. The Police Boss equally calls on members of the public particularly those in Villages to give timely information to police especially against criminally minded elements who are in the habit of Committing Crimes against Genders."
