Comrade Atiku Isa, has criticized the detention of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, describing it as an act of humiliation against a high-profile personality.
Speaking during an interview with SYMFONI TV, Isa argued that due process was not followed before El-Rufai’s arrest. He emphasized that investigations should be concluded before detaining individuals, especially those who have held significant positions in government.
Isa acknowledged that El-Rufai may have made mistakes in the past but insisted that such actions do not justify humiliating him. He stressed that El-Rufai’s status as a former governor and minister should be respected, warning that disrespecting prominent figures undermines national progress.
He said, “Yes we know El-Rufai must have done some things in the past that are not in order, but that doesn’t justify what you’re doing to him. That was a former governor, a former minister. You don’t humiliate important personalities and think the country will move forward.
