Bandits Abduct Over 20 Residents in Sokoto

Terrorists loyal to notorious bandit leader Bello Turji attacked Gajit community in Lajinge District of Sabon Birni Local Government Area, Sokoto State, leaving at least two people injured and more than 20 residents abducted. 

SaharaReporters gathered that the assailants, who arrived the community in large numbers on Tuesday night. 

A security alert platform, Bakatsine, confirmed the incident on Wednesday, stating that the attack was part of a series of coordinated assaults allegedly carried out by Bello Turji’s loyalists across communities in the Sokoto East Senatorial District. 

SaharaReporters previously reported that notorious bandits kingpin, Bello Turji, launched a fresh violent attacks toaimed at seizing control of several communities in Sokoto State’s eastern district, beginning with a brutal raid on Tidibale village in Isa Local Government Area (LGA) on Monday night. 

SaharaReporters had gathered that the armed group stormed Tidibale in large numbers. 

Bargaja village, also located in Isa LGA, was targeted days earlier, in what security sources describe as a systematic campaign to expand Turji’s control over strategic rural settlements.

Despite repeated assurances by authorities, communities in Sokoto have continued to suffer attacks, abductions and forced displacement  linked to armed bandit groups operating across the state and neighbouring areas.
