A coordinated operation by security agencies in Sokoto State has led to the rescue of 36 kidnap victims in the eastern part of the state. The victims, abducted from various communities across Sokoto and Zamfara states, were reportedly held in the Tidibali forest near the Isa-Sabon Birni-Goronyo axis before their liberation on Monday.

A local resident of Isa town, Surajo Isa, confirmed the successful rescue, adding that two bodies were also recovered during the operation. "I counted 36 rescued victims and saw two bodies brought into Isa town. I believe many bandits were neutralized during the operation," he said.

The Special Adviser to Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu on Security Matters, Colonel Ahmed Usman (retired), also verified the incident but noted that he was yet to receive a detailed briefing on the operation.

This rescue highlights the continued efforts of security forces to combat kidnapping and banditry in the region, which has been plagued by criminal activities. Residents expressed relief over the successful operation and called for sustained efforts to ensure lasting peace and security.
