3,500 of PDP, NNPP's mambers detects to APC in Yobe

Over 3,500 members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Yobe state decamped to the All Prograssive Congress (APC).
When receiving the decampees in Damaturu, the state chairman of APC, Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka, said the defectors would be accorded equal rights with the old members as APC believes in one united Nigeria unlike PDP and NNPP.
The APC chairman assured them that the would carry them along in all party activities.
Gadaka also called on the others who are willing to decamp to do so, “as it is a known fact that Yobe is an APC state.”
He further said that no other party can stand the chance to beat APC in elections any time, adding that the state government is aligning with the hopes and aspirations of the masses.
Gadaka congratulated the new members and advised them to rally round the manifestations, policies and programmes of the present administration.
Also speaking, the vice Chairman Zone A, Alh Mustapha Gaidam, Hon yau Galadima, member representing Bade Jakusko federal constituency and Hon. Aji Yerima Bularafa special adviser on political and legislative matters congratulated the new members and urged them to sensitize their followers to promote the party at all levels.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Goni Abdullahi Baban Gomna and Umar Ali said they took the crucial decision at the right time.
He stressed that the numerous projects executed during the 3 years of the Mai Mala led administration in the state were commendable, impressive and remarkable, adding that, "we decamped because of the Governor Mai Mala transparent leadership."
Notable among the defectors are Alhaji Umar Ali, the 2023 governorship aspirant of NNPP, Hajiya Tasallah Mai Jama’a, PDP coordinator Yobe North senatorial districts as well as Goni Abdullahi Baban Gomna of NNPP from Nguru.
Other decampees include candidate for the house of representatives for Bade, Jakusko federal constituency under NNPP among others.
