2023: Tinubu will end Jigawa, other state’s flood if elected - Shettima

From Ali Rabiu Ali, Dutse

The Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Kashim Shatima, has promised that the party's flag bearer, Bola Tinubu will end the flood disaster in Jigawa state if elected come 2023.

He made the promise in Dutse, Jigawa state capital on Monday, while with the emirs from the five emirates in the state over the 2022 flood incident.

Managarciya reported that Jigawa was one of the states worst hit by flood in 2022, with thousands of people displaced, while properties and farmlands worth billions of Naira were lost.

But Shettima said though it was a natural disaster that cannot be completely stopped, he promised that their administration will manage it to substantial level if APC is reelected.

He appealed to other stakeholders to support the flood victims but did not donate anything to the victims on the face of the press.

He prayed for those that lost their lives in the course of the flood and pray for their family to bear the loss.

On his part, the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi, said Kashim Shetima is the son of Jigawa and is always welcome home.

The Emir also said many people lost their lives and properties worth billions of Naira were lost as a result of the devastating flood.

He appreciated his visits and prayed for the safe return of the Vice Presidential candidate back to his destination.
