1Million Man Match:-Zamfara Anti Thuggery Arrests Local Government Secretary, Others

The Zamfara state anti thuggery committee has today arrested Tsafe local government secretary, and nine others who connived and carry dangerous weapons during the just concluded one million man match in support of Governor Bello Muhammed Matawalle second term bid, orgarnised by youths in the state.
Parading the suspects, the anti thuggery chairman Bello Muhammed Bakyasuwa said, the committee is standing on the existing law, executive order no,2. of Zamfara state that gave them the mandate to fight any act of thuggery, drugs abuse and other criminal related offences.
According to him, in the course of their duty during the one million man match, they monitored the rally to see if at all people complied with the existing order of the committee, but unfortunately they encounterd with those that refused to comply and arrested them.
Bakyasuwa added that, some of the suspects were arrested at the government house gate carrying dangerous weapons, and among them is the Tsafe local government secretary, he was fully involved in the act.
"In an effort to arrest them, my personnel sustained serious injuries and have been hospitalized at Yariman Bakura Hospital.
"This will not stop us from doing our effort in countering any act of thuggery in the state, and we are not partisant committee, we are here to do justice to evey one, and to bring maximun security the state needed. Chairman noted.
According to him, they arrested many of them, but during their investigations they released those that are innocent, but now they detained ten of them including the council secretary.
He however cried that some highly placed politicians have started calling him over the arrest but he said he would transfer the case to police for investigation and prosecution to serve as deterent to others.
Bakyasuwa, appealed to youth and politicians to stop carrying weopons during campaign, and the politicians should advised their loyalists on the dangers of carrying dangerous weapon during and after campaigning.
