14TH Emir Of Kano Becomes Grand Patron, Leader Of Tijjaniya Sect In Nigeria

The Tujjaniya sect in Nigeria has today Turbaned the 14th Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II as the Grand Patron and leader of the sect, a position his grand father, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi One held until his death in the early 1980s.
The turbaning ceremony took place in Gusau, the Zamfara state capital during the closing anniversary ceremony of the 36th world Maulud of sheikh Ibrahim Nyass .
Speaking shortly after his turbaning, by the Grand Khalifa of Sheikh Ibrahim INYASS, Sheikh Muhammad Mahi Nyass,
assured the sect in Nigeria that he will do everything possible to move the followers to progress.
He disclosed that, what Muslim Umma needed at this time was absolute devotion and commitment to the will of God and pray for peaceful coexistence of the country.
The new leader of the sect also assured that he will collaborate with all stake holders to educate the public the good deeds and legacies left by Sheik Ibrahim Inyas which he maintained during his lifetime.
In his remarks, Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State has advocated for unity among Nigerian Muslims adding, that it is one of the significant of Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass.
Governor Matawalle said the ceremony, which holds on annual basis, is another avenue where Muslins across the world gather to praise Allah and his messenger, Prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon him.
Matawalle said this year's Maulud, which brings thousands of people into the state where everyone was engaged in prayer and praises to Allah (SWT), is what the state needed at this crucial time.
